- Your Booster Membership! $50 Membership fees cover 2023-2024 membership, playbills, student meals for the Fall show, advertising the shows and contribute to our scholarship fund.
- To be eligible for Theatre Scholarships, families of Senior students must be members of the Booster Club.
- Join the Booster Board and Committees! Once a month the families meet to discuss upcoming performances, deadlines, fundraising, etc. It is the best way to show support for your child and meet some really fun parents! Even if you cannot make the meetings, your membership fee will go towards supporting the program throughout the year.
- All families are expected to help donate food to the concession stand and/or work at least 2 hours [per family per year] for the concession stand or performance staff. Sign-Up notifications will be sent using Signup Genius.
- Purchase a Personalized Sign to be placed on the billboard at the school's entrance!
- From Family Sponsorships, T-Shirts and Playbill Ads, you can do it online at the SVHS Theatre Online Store.
COMMUNICATION
- Day-to-Day communication will be through GroupMe [download app]
- Monthly Meetings occur in-person in the Theatre Classroom

SUPPORTING THE ARTS
- Comal ISD has a committee to support the arts in public schools called Arts in Action. SVHS needs 2 representatives to participate in 3 virtual meetings throughout the year.
DEADLINES

- Payment for the Personalized Sign at the school entrance and Booster Membership are due October 13, 2023.
- Playbill Ads and Sponsorships are due October 13, 2023.
- Senior Scholarship Applications are due at the end of April 2024.
EVENTS CALENDAR
- PRACTICES
- During show preparation, after school practices begin in September from 3:40 pm to 5:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
- If a practice will be missed the Thespian MUST notify the Stage Manager as soon as possible as the absence may disrupt the practice schedule.
- FALL SHOW
- This year's Fall show will be November 2-4, 2023.
- Showtimes are Thursday at 7:00 pm, Friday at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 2:30pm and 7:00 pm
- Tickets may be pre-purchased online or at the door. Some plays may have limited seating.
- THESPIAN FEST
- In November the troupe will attend Thespian Fest. Each year it is in a new city and spans over a 4-day period. The troupe will stay in hotel accommodations and the fee includes meals and transportation.
- The Fest includes acting, singing, dancing and tech classes. There will also be colleges on-site to provide audition feedback!
- Chaperones may be needed for overnight stays.
- WINTER SHOW
- Every other year SVHS also performs a Musical in December.
- Auditions are open to the entire student body.
- BREAK-A-LEG FUNDRAISER
- Once a year we hold our big fundraiser. We don't sell candy, popcorn or magazines. We simply are straight forward and ask for monetary donations. The students will put together a video to be placed on this website and they will text or email family, friends and fans with a link where they can donate.
- CLINIC
- The troupe will participate in 2 Theatre Clinics mid-February.
- UIL COMPENTION
- Begins in March and starts with Zone followed by District, Bi-District, Area and State.
- SVHS often hosts the Area Competition, regardless of if we are competing. Families are expected to volunteer with food donations and / or working at the event.
- Families will help decorate the Theatre Classroom to motivate the troupe.
- Competitions are held in different high schools and most performances are open to the public. A $5-$10 admission fee may be charged depending on the hosting school.
- Assistance with getting food to the troupe is needed!
- Thespian Induction Ceremony and Theatre Banquet occur in May.
